A White House social media post styled after Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour branding backfired Thursday after users quickly hijacked it to mock President Donald Trump and his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Late Thursday, the official White House X account shared a graphic titled “America’s Eras Tour,” modeled after the colorful block-style artwork used in Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
The image featured Trump at the center of a collage surrounded by former presidents like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, as well as iconic moments in U.S. history, including the moon landing and "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima.”
"It's been a long time coming...," the caption read, referencing a lyric from Swift's “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.”
Rather than drawing praise, the post quickly became a template for mockery as users began creating their own versions of Trump’s Eras Tour graphic.
Some users swapped in unflattering images of Trump, including photos appearing to show him asleep during public events, as well as a fake image depicting him behind bars in an orange jail jumpsuit.
“It sure has,” the user captioned the parody.
Others incorporated references to the president's past association with Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.
Trump has been named in the Epstein files, but an appearance in the files does not suggest wrongdoing.
Trump has also said he ended his freindship with Epstien and kicked him out of his Mar-a-Lago club.
One parody renamed the graphic “America’s Errors Tour” and included the birthday message Trump allegedly sent to Epstein, released by The Wall Street Journal as being shaped like a woman’s body.
Trump has denied authorship of the drawing referenced in that report.
Additional remixes criticized what users described as Trump's unfulfilled campaign promises, including a “booming economy for everyone” and “no new wars.”
*The Independent* has contacted the White House for comment.
Trump and Swift have had some bad blood in the past.
The singer endorsed former President Joe Biden in 2020 and later endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump responded to the Harris endorsement at the time on Truth Social, writing, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
He has also warned that Swift would “pay a price for it in the marketplace,” and later, in 2025, mocked her again on his platform, saying she was “NO LONGER HOT.”
On Friday - Swift’s rumored wedding day to fiancé Travis Kelce - the White House brought her back into the conversation again with a new social media video.
This time, the post was titled “America’s Founding Era” and included AI-generated clips showing scenes from the country’s early history, including depictions of the Founding Fathers.
