Salem woman accused of Medicaid fraud, neglecting elderly patients 13%

A Salem woman was indicted July 29 on multiple felony counts of neglecting two elderly and disabled Medicaid recipients in her care and submitting fraudulent claims for tens of thousands of dollars, Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said in a release.
She was charged with multiple counts of criminal mistreatment in the first degree, making a false claim for health care payment and aggravated theft in the first degree, Rayfield said.
She's scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 12, court records show.
The state alleges the woman neglected two elderly and disabled individuals while billing the Medicaid program for services she was not providing, Rayfield said.
She was arrested by Salem Police Felony Crimes Unit detectives July 29.
The woman was responsible for the two people in her care and custody.
She unlawfully and knowingly withheld necessary and adequate physical care, court records show.
White allegedly made claims for health care payment with false statement or representation and stole more than $10,000 or more from the state on at least two occasions between August and December 2025.
The case was brought to Oregon Department of Justice's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit by an adult protective services worker at NorthWest Senior and Disability Services, Rayfield said.
The department has charged a total of six defendants in four separate cases in Oregon involving theft of public benefits from elderly and disabled Oregonians, patient neglect and false billing to the state Medicaid program, Rayfield said.
The cases were brought to the department by county investigators, adult protective services workers and community providers across Oregon.
White is currently at the Marion County Jail, officials said.
She is prohibited from contacting the two individuals involved in the case, court records show.
