Far-right influencer Andrew Tate, a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump, was arrested Saturday in Miami, Florida, the U.S. 
Marshals Service told the Associated Press . 
In 2022, Tate was arrested on rape and human trafficking charges in Romania, though after pressure from the Trump administration, the case ultimately didn’t move forward. 
On Saturday, British prosecutors revealed they were “seeking the extradition of the brothers on rape and sex trafficking charges,” the Associated Press reported, offenses that allegedly occurred between 2010 and 2017. 
A spokesperson for the U.S. 
Marshals Service confirmed that both Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, were arrested in Florida Saturday, but could not comment further as the “warrant was sealed,” per the Associated Press. 
“The pending charges in the United Kingdom accused the brothers of abusing women between 2012 and 2015 in an area north of London, where they grew up,” the Associated Press’ report reads. 
“Their lawyers had said they denied the allegations.” 
The Trump administration was accused of pressing the Romanian government to ease travel restrictions for the Tate brothers, who hold both U.S. and British citizenship. 
Further reporting revealed that the brothers were closer to Trump’s inner circle than previously known, with Andrew Tate joining Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, on a video call in 2024. 
A probe was launched last year over the Trump administration’s alleged intervention in investigations into the Tate brothers.
