Joining me now is retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel David Flippo. David, thanks for coming on to talk about this this morning. Uh you know, what's the significance of this Pickaxe Mountain? Why is this the most important target right now?
>> Well, yeah, thanks for having me on by the way. I really appreciate that. Um yeah, I spent most of my career over in the Middle East. I came in in '85. It's interesting that Rubio is out there in the Philippines right now cuz that's where I started my career is with the Philippines.
Um Look, Pickaxe Mountain uh is critical. Uh Yeah, we can't we can't get into the military side of this and and what's discussed at the classified level, but uh you know, there's a reason uh that we probably didn't want to take it out early. Uh you know, there's probably radiation going to happen in there. And uh you know, with with what we're going to have to do because Iranians have been given every opportunity. President Trump has given them every opportunity to come to the table. Uh problem is we don't know who's in charge. And when they come into the negotiating tables and they go back, uh and the people who are really in charge are making the decisions, uh we just get this same thing over and over again. It's almost the definition of insanity that we're going through. And luckily we now have a president who's going to stop that insanity.
>> You know, we heard Pete Hegseth say just then that if anyone can do it, America can do it. Um it's apparently deep in these tunnels in Tehran. Um, do you think destroying these centrifuges can stop this war? Is that what is needed?
>> Well, we need to stop their nuclear capability uh in a dead stop, right? Um, and if that takes taking out this mountain and getting rid of their centrifuges, uh you know, will they rebuild? Will they continue just to lie to us? Uh, more than likely.
