Middle East expert says Iran "reaped direct and concrete benefits" from U.S. deal 83%

Mona, now that these talks have wrapped up, what comes next?
>> Oh, the hard work is just beginning.
There is so much more to negotiate and clarify.
First, on the nuclear file.
Lots of questions about what those inspections that Vice President Vance announced actually constitute.
Iran saying they've made no new commitments on that.
And then, of course, key issues around Iran's highly enriched uranium and whether or not it would agree to freeze enrichment.
These are key questions and it's a very ambitious 60-day timeline.
On top of that, there is also the question of Lebanon, as was noted in your report.
Lebanon has holds the potential to derail the entire deal.
There's a very fragile ceasefire right now holding and the US will mediate direct talks between Lebanon and Israel.
I think it's the fourth or fifth round slated to begin tomorrow.
>> From these negotiations, does one country come out ahead of the other?
>> Well, it's hard to have a scorecard here, but I think we can't not acknowledge that Iran is receiving, as of today, material benefits by the virtue of lifting, even temporarily, sanctions on oil.
Iran is now able to sell its oil on the market at market prices and bring in a lot of much-needed foreign currency.
There's also the question of whether or not Iran's assets will start to become unfrozen.
Iran is signaling that that is beginning to start.
So, it's clear Iran, from day one now of this deal, has reaped direct and concrete benefits.
