Last week, pieces of that new coating that the the president applied to describe as it a American flag blue color began peeling off.
Trump now claims that vandalism is to blame, but he's provided no evidence to prove it.
At least one person has been arrested.
Former Olympic canoeist David Hearn tells ABC News that he was cycling near the pool and touched a loose piece of the coating, but did not rip, tear, break, destroy, or harm any part of it.
This taxpayer-funded renovation has been plagued with issues.
Within days of reopening this month, the pool's color went from blue to an algae-clouded green.
Work crews have been combating the algae with vacuum pumps and strainers, even pouring hydrogen peroxide directly into the water.
The company that applied the coating says it identified some areas of the pool that require repairs and confirmed that it will need to be drained.
That company, along with a water purification business that's owned by a long-time donor to President Trump, bypassed the traditional bidding process that's typically [music] used to do work on national parks, guys.
