Kenny Loggins made a rare red carpet appearance at the 55th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala in NYC on Thursday.
The singer–songwriter, who was being inducted alongside Taylor Swift, is known for his decades-long career in the industry, as well as for his reputation as the King of the Movie Soundtrack.
A number of his hit songs have been featured in Hollywood films, including the title track of Footloose and the instantly recognizable Top Gun cut Danger Zone.
Loggins started to gain recognition in the '70s while collaborating with Jim Messina as part of the rock duo Loggins and Messina.
The performer went on to garner several accolades and awards throughout his impressive career, including two Grammy wins.

He opted for a white shirt underneath, which he left partially unbuttoned, and he slipped into black shoes.

The singer was accompanied by his partner, Lisa Hawkins, who looked stylish in a black satin dress with a low-cut neckline.
Her blonde locks were parted to the side and swept up into a chic updo.
For a final touch, she accessorized her look with a dainty silver necklace and matching bracelet.
It was announced earlier this year that Loggins was one of this year's Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees.
Other artists that made the 2026 list include Taylor Swift, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, Alanis Morissette, Christopher 'Tricky' Stewart, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, as well as Walter Afanasieff.
And in February, the official Instagram account for the Songwriters Hall of Fame further celebrated Loggins being an inductee.
Loggins, who has two Grammy wins to his name and multiple other accolades, started to gain recognition in the '70s while collaborating with Jim Messina as part of the rock duo Loggins and Messina
In 2022, Loggins admitted in an interview with AXS TV that he had no idea he was writing an instant classic when he penned Footloose's title song.
Above, in Chicago in 1980
'This [was] the biggest movie of the summer,' he said of the Kevin Bacon film.
'You can't see that coming.'
'The movie thing is an interesting synergy,' Loggins continued.
'The movie lifts the song, the song lifts the movie, and back then, it hadn't been done.
'Back then, pop music and movies were not necessarily symbiotic,' he added.
'All of a sudden, it was working.'
In 2023, the singer retired from touring to spend more time with Hawkins and his grandchildren from his two previous marriages.
The couple, who have been together for around eight years, live in the upscale Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County.
Loggins, who hails from Washington State, has lived in the area for several decades and raised his five adult children from his two marriages.
A year earlier, Loggins  who is known for his unique blend of rock and pop musical sound in the 1970s and '80s  recalled how he came to write the Footloose theme in an interview with AXS TV.
Even though the song is now a classic earworm, Loggins admitted that he had no idea he was writing an instant classic.
