Without fail, every time Republicans hold congressional hearings on the deadly consequences of the Democrats' sanctuary city policies and Joe Biden's open borders debacle, Democrats make it very clear that they could not care less about the victims.
And in the instances where they pretend to care, they play whataboutism games while continuing to refuse to take responsibility for dangerous policies that have gotten American citizens killed.
Jessica Gorman, the mother of murdered 18-year-old Loyola University freshman Sheridan Gorman, is one of many Angel Moms who knows this all too well.
Nevertheless, she continues to advocate on behalf of her daughter and others who have been senselessly hurt or killed by illegal immigrants in hopes that one day, no family will ever have to go through this again.
On Tuesday, Mrs.
Gorman appeared at a House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement hearing, where the topic was "Sanctuary Policies: Victims’ Perspectives."
But before she had a chance to speak, the ranking member, Democrat Rep.
Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), put on a disgusting display, complaining that this was the fourth hearing they'd held on sanctuary cities and suggesting they had other, more pressing matters on which they should be focused.
And no, I am not exaggerating.
That's exactly what she did.
Watch:
Sheridan Gorman, who was killed in the sanctuary city of Chicago in March, allegedly by 25-year-old Venezuelan illegal Jose Medina, was a constituent of GOP Rep.
Mike Lawler (NY-17).
Lawler was at the hearing to introduce Jessica Gorman, but as one might expect, he was incensed over Jayapal's remarks.
He got even more irate when Jayapal objected to the fact that he was making a statement instead of a simple introduction, which she - and her equally despicable colleague, Democrat Rep.
Jamie Raskin (MD-08) claimed was against the rules.
Jayapal's and Raskin's callous indifference to the Angel Families in attendance, combined with the two of them fretting about decorum considering the highly emotional subject matter, caused Lawler to unload on both of them, not backing down one inch in telling the backstory behind Sheridan Gorman's murder despite Raskin's and Jayapal's attempts to shut him up:
Lawler: "The same outrage you feel about Renee Good and Alex Pretti, you should feel about Sheridan Gorman and Laken Riley, and every angel family."
Raskin: "I do feel that outrage!"
Lawler: "You do not!
Because if you did, you would NOT support sanctuary jurisdictions!
You should be ashamed of yourself!
You're a disgrace!"
Raskin: "You don't belong in this committee, get the hell out of here… You're full of it!"
Lawler: "You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself for not opposing sanctuary policies that resulted in their daughter's death."
Later, a clearly angry Lawler went on Fox News to talk about how Democrats had obviously learned nothing from the previous hearings, which is why they needed to continue to have them - if for no other reason than to expose the truth:
Lawler also pointed out that Republicans are not just talking about this issue, that they're trying to do something about it, but Democrats won't budge:
And in an interview with TMZ, Lawler point-blank called his colleagues "f**king a**holes" for their disgusting behavior towards Angel Families during the hearing (language warning):
I should also note that Jessica Gorman did not hold back on Jayapal, either:
Mrs.
Gorman's statement, in fact, was one of the most powerful I've ever heard.
Make sure to watch it below:
As far as I'm concerned, Raskin and Jayapal gave Republicans a gift headed into the midterms with their pathetic displays.
It was a pretty powerful reminder that when it comes right down to it, Democrats will put illegal immigrants over the safety and security of American citizens every time.
