The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced that another strike was carried out against a suspected drug boat, bringing the tally to four in a week.
The strike was carried out on Saturday at the direction of the SOUTHCOM commander General Francis L.
Donovan, the command stated.
"Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations," SOUTHCOM said.
"Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations."
The command claimed three alleged male narco-terrorists were killed in the strike, with no American military forces harmed.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, SOUTHCOM had also announced strikes, making Saturday’s attack the fourth for the week.
Per The Hill, roughly 60 boats have been targeted since September as part of Operation Southern Spear, the Trump administration’s military campaign against traffickers smuggling drugs into the U.S. from overseas.
According to the Associated Press, the campaign has led to a death toll of 205.
