President Donald Trump on Saturday said multiple Iranian military leaders were killed in a major strike on Tehran, hours after issuing a separate warning giving Iran 48 hours to comply with U.S. demands.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "Many of Iran's Military Leaders, who have led them poorly and unwisely, are terminated, along with much else, with this massive strike in Tehran!
President DONALD J.
TRUMP"
Earlier in the day, Trump had warned Iran of looming consequences if it failed to act, writing: "Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT.
Time is running out  48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them.
Glory be to GOD!
President DONALD J.
TRUMP"
The posts signal an escalation in tone from the president as the conflict with Iran intensifies, with U.S. and Israeli forces continuing strikes targeting military infrastructure and leadership.
"The doors of hell will be opened to you" if Iran's infrastructure is attacked, Gen.
Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of the country's joint military command said late Saturday in response to Trump's renewed threat, state media reported.
In turn, the general threatened all infrastructure used by the U.S. military in the region.
Recent operations have focused in part on high-ranking officials, part of a broader campaign aimed at degrading Iran's command structure and military capabilities.
The Strait of Hormuz  a critical global shipping route for oil  remains a central flashpoint, with Trump repeatedly demanding Iran ensure access or face consequences.
The latest developments come amid ongoing fighting across the region, including the downing of a U.S. fighter jet and continued search efforts for a missing American crew member.
Officials have not released additional details about the targets or casualties from the reported strike in Tehran, and independent confirmation remains limited.
The situation remains fluid as tensions continue to rise.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
