Top Democrats on House intel and armed services panels press for updates on Iran 
The top Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee and Armed Services Committee pushed the Trump administration for more information on the U.S.-Iran war.

Jim Himes of Connecticut, the intelligence panel's ranking member, told reporters the "Gang of Eight"  made up of Senate and House leadership and intelligence committee leaders from both parties  hasn't received a "meaningful" briefing "in months," even though "there's obviously been a lot of developments in Iran, including the tragic fatalities there."  
Himes said he believes the intelligence committee will get an Iran briefing before House members leave town for recess later this week. 
Democratic Rep. 
Adam Smith of Washington, ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, said, "It's been weeks since the administration has briefed us." 
Asked if the full House or the Armed Services Committee will get a briefing this week, he said "I certainly hope so," adding that he believes there will be a briefing Tuesday.
