Collin Gosselin's explosive memoir is set to come out later this year, giving details on his tumultuous relationship with mom Kate Gosselin, and a new report says that she's desperate to read it before it actually hits shelves.
"She believes there are major inaccuracies and missing context," a source told Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack on Tuesday, June 30.
"The minute she gets the manuscript, she'll start preparing her response."
Another source added that Kate, 51, "wants to see every page before it hits bookstores."
"She knows Collin is making explosive allegations, and she has no intention of being caught off guard," the source continued.
Earlier this month, Collin, 22, announced that his book, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, would be released in October, and it includes claims that Kate abused him as a child.
"Collin is finally sharing the truth about being held down, the basement cell where he was hidden for years, and the cocktail of powerful antipsychotics forced on an eleven-year-old boy," the synopsis for the book reads.
"This is a reckoning with the dark side of fame: the systems, the entourage, and the institutions that allowed one boy to be erased.
This is the never before told story of how he escaped and found his way back from the dark."
While sources told Naughty But Nice that Kate knows she can't stop the book from being published, she still wants to be prepared to respond to the allegations.
"This is about protecting her reputation," a separate source told the outlet.
"She feels she's already been cast as the villain before anyone has even read the book.
She's determined to tell her side."
Kate and Jon Gosselin initially rose to fame as the stars of the TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8.
The show highlighted their everyday lives as a family with a set of twins, Mady and Cara, and sextuplets  Collin, Alexis, Hanna, Aaden, Joel and Leah.
Jon, 49, and Kate divorced in 2009, and years later, Collin became estranged from his mom when she sent him to a behavioral school.
After leaving the institution, he moved in with his dad and cut ties with Kate.
In 2024, Collin publicly accused his mother of abuse, according to a report from The Sun.
In response, Kate's attorney said that they didn't believe she had done anything to "intentionally harm" her son.
The attorney also told the outlet that Kate "did what she did to protect herself and her family" from what was described as "troubled behavior."
