Iran hasn’t forgotten this travesty, nor should they.
An article came out after the recent U.S.-Iran ceasefire deal was announced.
A person from the town of Rehovot, Israel, was interviewed and said that the president of the United States had betrayed Israel.
I would say to this person: America hasn’t betrayed you.
Israel stole the land and homes of the people of Palestine.
It has murdered 20,000 or more Palestinian children and then mocks them, openly referring to them as insects, vermin to be exterminated.
I have a question for President Trump: Why did we ever get involved with these murderous thieves?
And why Iran?
What the people of the U.S. have been a party to can’t be undone.
We have taken our military 7,200 miles from our nation's shores and dropped bombs on an elementary school full of innocent children.
Our nation has colluded with a killer of children, and what we’ve done is unconscionable.
Now our nation is a killer of children.
America, we’ve been betrayed by the very people in our government who we elected and gave permission to act in our name.

I erred when I characterized Israel’s early leadership as mere right-wingers, but I was only trying to exercise a bit of restraint.
I won’t mince words and will call them what they were — outright cuckoo-bananas thugs.
The whole sordid collection of gangsters from Irgun, Haganah, Lehi and the Stern Gang would not only form the basis for the IDF, but would become the prime movers who commanded the future course of that alleged country.
We’re living with the consequences of that.
None of those guys could ever be accused of advocating for liberal democracy or respecting the dignity of others.
Even David Ben-Gurion was more concerned with ripping off as much land as possible.
The evidence is his famous 1937 letter to his son.
I hope this sets the record straight.

Manhattan: I find the debate about closed primaries ridiculous, and I believe the proponents of so-called open primaries know that they are making false arguments.
I’m not a registered Democrat and therefore have not been able to vote in Dem primaries.
The point is that this is my choice.
If I wanted to vote in the primaries, I simply have to change my registration.
There is no issue here other than that the advocates of open primaries are looking to game the system by attacking the rights of parties to organize and choose their candidates, and to allow open primary candidates a way to hide their political beliefs.

We partner with Hearty Roots, a certified organic farm in the Hudson Valley, to bring fresh local produce to our neighbors every week.
For our members, the CSA is a direct connection to the farms and farmers who grow our food.
The Save Our Bacon Act threatens that connection.
According to analyses of the bill, it could jeopardize more than 20 New York regulations, including food safety standards, disease prevention measures and consumer labeling protections.
These state-level laws keep our food supply safe and protect the small organic farms that CSAs like ours depend on.
When states lose the authority to set their own food safety and agricultural standards, consumers and small farmers pay the price.
Only large industrialized corporate farms stand to benefit from this bill.

Long Island City: The death of Romanch Mahajan is very sad and I pray for him and his family, but he's the first and only passenger fatality in the history of the carriage ride business in Central Park.
The City Council and other politicians, along with the Central Park Conservancy, say Central Park has become too crowded with all the scooters, mopeds, e-bikes and other illegal motorized vehicles.
Instead of banning horses, we should ban all the illegal vehicles that take over our parks and streets.
The Council does nothing to protect average citizens from these motorized vehicles that have caused dozens of injuries and deaths, but now that one person has died in a horse-carriage accident, the industry should be banned.
Maybe we should ban the Conservancy also since it has allowed a number of injuries and deaths in Central Park because of falling branches and trees.

Bayside: As a fan of Sunny Hostin of “The View,” I’m sad that her son has a vision problem.
That a Harvard University student was unable to comprehend a posted sign of “No Trespassing” and continued to jog adjacent to a railroad track, possibly endangering thousands of citizens, is sad.
Then Sunny thought that her celebrity status produces a halo effect upon her dolt offspring and he should not have received a summons for trespassing on railroad property, endangering approaching trains.
