Well-heeled fans are shelling out big bucks to beat the crowds at Thursday’s ticker-tape parade celebrating the Knicks’ first NBA championship in 53 years. 
New listings on Airtasker, an app that connects users with gig workers willing to take odd jobs and run errands, show offers of up to $100 for anyone willing to wait hours in advance at the parade to hold a spot for their clients. 
“I’m a huge Knicks fan and want to attend the parade, but I need someone to get there early and grab me a spot near City Hall,” wrote Airtasker user Craig B., who offered $100 on the app for anyone willing to save him a spot. 
In one case, as recorded on X by PIX11 politics reporter Emily Rahhal, an Airtasker user offered a whopping $750 for anyone willing to show up at midnight before the event and wait until 8 a.m. — two hours before the parade’s scheduled 10 a.m. start. 
Airtasker user Jessa S. offered $100 for anyone willing to hold her spot until she could “get there from work. 
” Leigh P. offered to take the gig and “not charge too much, because I’m sure you’re already paying so much for these tickets. 
” 
The Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Saturday night to capture their first championship since 1973. 
The parade celebrating the win will travel north along Broadway through the “Canyon of Heroes” before concluding at City Hall. 
Immediately after the parade, Mayor Mamdani is hosting a championship celebration and ceremony at which he’ll present the Knicks with a Key to the City. 
It’s the first championship parade in the hoops team’s history; the 1970 and 1973 teams were honored in ceremonies at City Hall. 
“For more than 50 years, New Yorkers have waited for this moment,” Mamdani said in a statement. 
“Through near misses, heartbreak and a hope that every year could be our year, this city never stopped believing in the Knicks. 
And this team fulfilled that hope with grit, resilience and heart — just like the five boroughs itself. 
New Yorkers have cheered for our team from packed living rooms in the Bronx to watch parties in Brooklyn, from bars in Queens to Staten Island to Manhattan, and Madison Square Garden itself.
