BREAKING: GOP senator announces bill to end birthright citizenship after SCOTUS ruling 86%

and for all.
Now, Senator, it's great to see you tonight.
As I understand it, um you think you can solve this by this issue with birthright citizenship um by
using inspiration from kind of an unlikely source, uh Senator Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Explain that to us.
>> Yes, so Laura, 1993, uh Harry Reid, a hardcore Democrat at the time, came up with a bill that had 10 points, one of which was clarifying that birthright citizenship does not apply to foreign-born parents.
You have to be an American citizen on American soil for that to apply.
Uh this bill also, by the way, cracked down on the numbers of asylum seekers. It cracked down on human smuggling.
It massively tightened our borders and really hit employers hard who hired illegals.
I'm going to introduce, when I get back from uh recess on July 13th, the identical bill.
And Laura, what it's going to do is highlight two things.
The Democrats of today are nothing like the Democrats of 1993.
And if they choose to reject a bill sponsored by their majority leader that they named an airport in Las Vegas after, then I think to my Republican colleagues, we have no choice.
We have to recognize that these Democrats want to systematically destroy this country.
So, what does that mean?
We have to eliminate the filibuster and get this thing done.
>> No, I have to eliminate the filibuster, period.
But, Senator Moreno, just back to the your your uh your solution you think to this, if this would pass, which uh it's not going to pass.
But, if it did pass,
the Supreme Court, five justices believe it is a constitutional imperative under the 14th Amendment.
That that cannot be um changed by mere congressional action uh in terms of legislation.
it would have to be, in other words, a constitutional amendment
as Mike Johnson referenced.
So, how how do you get over the fact that the court has spoken on this, at least for now?
>> Well, if you look at that just in Justice Kavanaugh's dissent, he disagreed with that.
He said that what we have to do is clarify what citizenship means.
We can do that through an act of Congress.
And if we pass that bill, and I don't say that we
can't.
I think we can. I think we can
and should get 50 votes for that and
prove that again the Democrats of today,
Laura, are people that would have been considered far left extremists outside the political norm back even in the 1990s.
And then if somebody wants to challenge that with the Supreme Court, I think we have an opportunity in Justice Thomas, which you mentioned, his 91-page is a must-read for every American.
He lays out all the facts.
Kavanaugh's on our side.
I think we can flip Barrett and Thomas Barrett and
and and Roberts if they actually see that Congress has taken action to address this issue.
Look, Harry Reid thought there was a path forward to get this done.
This is an imperative, Laura, because what the Democrats are doing is setting up our country for Democratic administration that will fundamentally destroy what this country is all about.

the Senate has got to get on board with actually representing the American people, the us, who we are. And that's not happening.
