A new government report shows about 19 million people were enrolled in the Affordable Care Act in the first 2 months of this year.
That's down by 3 million people compared to last year.
The Trump administration says this is because of its efforts to crack down on fraud, but health care analysts attribute this decline to soaring insurance costs after federal subsidies, which you'll remember were at the center of that record-long government shutdown.
Those subsidies expired at the start of this year.
The nonprofit KFF says that the average premium right now is up 58% this year from $113 a month to almost $180, and they do expect that millions more people will be forced to drop their coverage this year amid those skyrocketing costs, Michael.
