Honda is recalling more than 800,000 vehicles because of rear suspension
components that may fail and cause drivers to lose control.
Honda said the recall covers certain 2016 to 2022 Honda
Pilots, 2017 to 2023 Ridgelines, 2019 to 2023 Passports, and 2014 to 2020 Acura
MDX vehicles.
Honda estimates that just 1% of the vehicles listed have the defect and say they've had no warranty
claims or reports of an injury or death related to the problem.
As a remedy, Honda and Acura dealers will inspect the rear subframe and install a
reinforcement kit if necessary, or they will repair or replace the rear subframe
components at no cost to the vehicle owners.
