On Aug. 2, the vacant Centennial Mills warehouse in Portland caught fire.
Portland Fire & Rescue put out the fire, but said it is concerned the 8-story, 116-year-old building could collapse because of fire damage and the city's Building Engineer would need to conduct a more thorough analysis.
In the meantime the street and the railroad tracks adjacent to the warehouse are closed.
Those railroad tracks are owned by Union Pacific but used by Amtrak Cascades, the passenger rail line that goes from Eugene to Vancouver, British Columbia.
During the indefinite closure, the Portland to Vancouver, Washington, leg of that service is suspended.

Jenny Cherrytree, spokesperson for Amtrak Cascades in Oregon said her team has reached out to passengers who bought tickets to either refund them or arrange buses instead.
Travelers looking to use Amtrak to get from Eugene to Washington can buy an Amtrak Cascades bus ticket; buy two Amtrak Cascades train tickets and find an alternative transportation method to get between Amtrak's Portland and Vancouver, Washington train stations; or travel on Amtrak's Coast Starlight route.
The Coast Starlight route runs from Los Angeles to Seattle and is less frequent than Amtrak Cascades.
According to Amtrak spokesperson Olivia Irvin, there was enough capacity on an alternate route from Portland to Vancouver, Washington, for the Coast Starlight but not Cascades.
