Providence police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a car on the campus of Rhode Island College. 
Officers went to check on the woman's welfare at about 6 p.m. on the night of Monday, Aug. 3, said a spokeswoman for the police, Kristy dosReis. 
The woman, who was in a car in one of the lots on the campus, was pronounced dead at the scene, dosReis said. 
dosReis was unable to say if investigators were treating the death as suspicious. 
Detectives were still trying to identify the woman on Tuesday morning, she said. 
She had no further information.
