That walkway features restaurants, shops, and a staircase connecting the waterfront to Pike Place Market.
With sand, beach wood, and meadows, Myrtle Edwards and Centennial Park offer much different views of the city's waterfront.
Together, they add up to 16 acres of open space and more than one mile of shoreline access.

But will it fulfill its economic potential?
The Elliott Bay Connections project was funded entirely through private philanthropy, including donors Melinda French Gates and MacKenzie Scott, in partnership with the city of Seattle and the Port of Seattle.
The project was announced in August of 2023, with the goal of reopening Myrtle Edwards and Centennial Parks in time for Seattle to host the FIFA World Cup.
On Thursday afternoon, cyclists cruised along the bike path connecting downtown Seattle to neighborhoods north of the ship canal.
