In a major breakthrough for prosecutors, Lance Twiggs, the former roommate and transgender partner of accused Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson, has been granted “use-immunity” in exchange for a sworn statement detailing Robinson’s confession.
In a Tuesday filing, prosecutors revealed that they granted the 22-year-old limited immunity to secure a recorded statement he provided authorities in April, in preparation for a preliminary hearing.
Along with the sworn testimony, the state intends to introduce incriminating photographs of messages allegedly from Robinson that was recovered from Twiggs’ phone.
“On April 20, 2026, in preparation for the preliminary hearing, Mr.
Twiggs gave a recorded statement under oath and after an admonition that any false statement would be punishable by law and could be charged as obstruction of justice.
Mr.
Twiggs was also given use-immunity by the United States Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office—meaning that his statements at that April 20 meeting could not be used against him,” prosecutors wrote in the filing.
The 22-year-old’s statement described that “several of Defendant’s statements to him: That Defendant killed Charlie Kirk (count 1, aggravated murder, and count 2, felony discharge of a firearm), that he hid the firearm (count 3, obstruction of justice), disposed of clothing (count 4, obstruction of justice), and that he told Mr.
Twiggs not to speak to law enforcement (count 4, witness tampering).

While the prosecution noted most of these communications occurred electronically, investigators also recovered a handwritten confession left for Twiggs, whom Robinson addressed as "Luna."
“Luna, if you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry.
I left the house this morning on a mission, and sent an auto text.
I am likely dead or facing a lengthy prison sentence.
I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it,” the letter allegedly stated.
“I don’t know if I will/have succeeded, but I had hoped to make it home to you.
I wish we could have lived in a world where this did not feel necessary.
I wish I could have stayed for you and lived our lives together.
I lack the words to express how much I love you, and how very much you mean to me.
Please try and find joy in this life.
I love you, always, -Tyler,” the letter continued according to the warrant stated.
The damning admissions Twiggs provided in April directly align with his initial statements to investigators on September 11th—the day Robinson surrendered for the September 10th fatal shooting of Kirk at Utah Valley University.
