Suspect in fatal Boston Common assault arrested after second attack, police say 4%

A person accused of fatally assaulting a man near Boston Common early Wednesday was arrested hours later after allegedly attacking a second victim with a metal pole in downtown Boston, police said. 
Around 5:20 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Tremont Street and Boylston Street, near the MBTA Boylston Green Line station, and located a man “suffering from trauma,” the Boston Police Department said in an announcement. 
The victim was pronounced dead at Tufts Medical Center, police said. 
His identity has not been released. 
A second incident occurred hours later, just before 10 a.m., at the intersection of John F. 
Kennedy Surface Road and Beach Street. 
There, a second victim was struck from behind with a metal pole, causing him to fall to the ground, police said. 
The second victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. 
Police did not specify the severity of his injuries. 
Authorities arrested a suspect allegedly carrying a metal pole nearby. 
Detectives later determined that the person apprehended for the Beach Street assault was the same person involved in the incident at Boylston and Tremont streets, according to police. 
Ashlie Jeremie, 27, of Bedford, is charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and larceny under $1,200, police said. 
Jeremie is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court, police said.
