Houston police are seeking information from the public after a man's body was found on the banks of the Buffalo Bayou ship channel Monday.
The body was found around 7 a.m.
Monday at 7220 J W Peavy Drive, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department.
The man's identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The Houston Fire Department pronounced the man deceased.
"The male, discovered by workers, was in a state of decomposition.
There were no apparent wounds or trauma on the body," according to the release.
"The investigation is pending the man's cause of death, to be determined by an autopsy."
