Here are some of the Houston-area campuses opening this fall:
Conroe ISD
At the Montgomery County school district, Fowler Intermediate and Kacy Arnold Elementary will welcome its first students this school year.
That comes as renovations wrap up at Knox Junior High, Oak Ridge High School, McCullough Junior High, Conroe High School and several agriculture facilities.
The 31,600-student district also plans to open another campus, Grand Oaks Junior High, in August 2027.
Alief ISD
The 36,400-student district in southwest Houston will open the Young Women's Leadership School on Aug. 12, an all-girls college preparatory school serving students in sixth grade through 12th grade.
According to Alief ISD's website, the school will have students focus on developing leadership and STEM knowledge.
The magnet school is part of Young Women’s Preparatory Network, a nonprofit agency that partners with public school districts in Texas to operate all-girls public, college preparatory schools.
The organization donated $1 million to Alief ISD for its new campus, and operates 11 other campuses in the state, including at Aldine and Houston ISDs.
Lamar CISD
The region's fastest growing school district plans to open Slawinski Elementary in August for students in Fulshear.
The 48,700-student district in Fort Bend County will also unveil a new administrative building and career and technical education center for 2026-27 school year.

Lamar CISD was the only large district in the region with more than 30,000 students that didn't see a decline in student enrollment last school year.
It saw its student body jump by 4.28% or 2,001 students between 2024 and 2025.
In February, Superintendent Roosevelt Nivens said the district was building seven schools, and had plans to construct two more schools.
The district also plans to open three new campuses next school year: Williams High School, Urbanski Junior High and Dresner Middle School.
Tomball ISD
In northwest Harris County, Tomball West High School will welcome its inaugural class Aug.
18.
The new campus will become the 23,200-student district's third comprehensive high school.
The high school will only serve 9th and 10th grade students this school year, and will eventually become a four-year high school campus by the 2028-29 school year.
