The owner of Camp North End stationery staple Good Postage, Jane Manfredi, is expanding her footprint with Good Game, a retail concept focused on tabletop gaming and analog hobbies.
Manfredi announced Tuesday plans to open Good Game by the end of the summer.
The 818-square-foot shop will move into the development's Keswick District, selling board games, card games, trading cards and game accessories alongside community-focused programming.
Manfredi opened Good Postage with her mother, Karen, in 2020, focusing on hand-drawn paper goods printed locally on recycled paper.
The stationery shop has since expanded its space twice to accommodate growth.
The inspiration for Good Game came during Manfredi's travels along the East Coast.
While she noticed game shops were consistently packed, she often found the retail environments underwhelming.
The experience convinced her there was an opportunity to create a more intentional space built for both newcomers and veteran tabletop players.
“My overall goal is to create an accessible place where people of all backgrounds can learn new games or hone their skills with their favorites,” Manfredi said in a statement.
“Over the last six years of owning Good Postage, I have noticed a desire to return to in-person connection and analog hobbies that don’t involve digital screens."
The storefront is expected to open by the end of the summer and will feature an exterior painted to resemble a classic game die, with signage showcasing oversized dice and a queen playing card as a nod to the Queen City.
Inside, the shop will feature center display tables and a dedicated "trading card bar" where customers can request Pokémon cards.
Beyond retail, the shop plans to anchor a local gaming community through a weekly and monthly rotation of beginner-friendly game nights, casual play sessions and competitive tournaments.
Manfredi also plans to collaborate with neighboring Camp North End businesses for joint gameplay events.
“We are excited to continue our story at Camp North End, which, since 2020, has provided us with an incredible community of people who have supported us from the beginning,” Manfredi added.
Good Game will join a growing roster of small businesses in the Keswick District, including cocktail lounge Room Service, skate shop Parts & Service, retro candy store Life Is Sweet, dairy-free ice cream shop Seemingly Overzealous, Halal Street Food and Hardy Boys Records & Comics.
