Very little is known about this DLC expansion other than that the developers confirmed that the scale of its content will be similar to the 'Blood and Wine' expansion , and that it will be dropping support for Windows 10 and Xbox One , as the hardware spec requirements it brings are beyond last-gen hardware to handle. 
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past DLC is expected to release sometime in 2027, for Xbox Series X | S , PlayStation 5, and PC. 
Windows Central's take 
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is widely regarded as one of the best games released in the last generation of consoles, which people still play to this day, as it reached a milestone of selling over 60 million copies last year . 
We even gave it a glowing review back in 2018 for providing hundreds of hours' worth of exciting storytelling, character writing, and rewarding open-world exploration and combat...and that was just for the base game alone. 
Each DLC expansion that followed added tons more content and gripping stories on top of what was already a solid game to begin with. 
In fact, the Blood and Wine expansion was so well-done and packed with so much content that it won the award for Best RPG at the 2016 Game Awards , beating out fully priced standalone games like Dark Souls 3 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. 
So I can't imagine how CD Projekt Red plans to top Blood and Wine's success with the upcoming Songs of the Past expansion. 
Either way, I can't wait to replay this classic again soon when the next DLC drops and see what The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past has in store for players (and if its story will set the events for the upcoming Witcher 4 ) when it makes its debut at Gamescom 2026 on August 25, 2026.
