If you've walked around the White House recently, you may have noticed that scaffolding has covered the north portico.

Well, Cruz just put up this tarp here covering that scaffolding.

*** White House official tells me the North portico columns are undergoing standard restoration work, specifically stone repair in those columns.

So it's not *** new structure going up, but maintenance on one of the most recognizable parts of the building.

It's happening at *** time when there are *** lot of visible changes around the White House.
