A woman has taken a plea deal in connection with a crash in Bristol in 2024 that killed two pedestrians.
Carlee Patterson, 27, appeared last Thursday in New Britain Superior Court where she pleaded no contest to two counts of misconduct with a motor vehicle, according to court records.
Patterson is free on $50,000 bond and has not been sentenced.
When reached Monday for comment seeking details about the plea bargain, Patterson’s attorney declined to comment.
Patterson is expected to face sentencing on Sept. 29, records show.
A no contest plea means Patterson declined to fight the charges against her.
The plea cannot be used as an admission of guilt in connection with any civil proceedings.
Patterson is charged in connection with a crash on June 24, 2024, just before 4:15 a.m. in the area of Pine Street, also known as Route 72, and Emmett Street, according to the Bristol Police Department.
Headed east on Pine Street, police said Patterson struck Bristol residents 37-year-old Fay Clarity and 34-year-old Nicholas Cricco.
Police previously said they believe both pedestrians were within a crosswalk while crossing Pine Street when they were hit.
Emergency crews administered life-saving measures until medics arrived at the scene.
Both victims were both taken to an area hospital where Clarity was pronounced dead, according to police.
Criccio died the next day, police said.
Police said Patterson remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.
She was not injured.
Following a months-long investigation by the police department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, Patterson was charged with two counts of misconduct with a motor vehicle and a single count of failure to obey a traffic control signal.
The latter charge is expected to be dropped under the terms of the plea deal that was reached.
According to court records, two civil lawsuits have been brought against Patterson on behalf of the estates of Clarity and Cricco.
The lawsuits allege that Patterson was intoxicated and was coming from a party at the Sportsmen Athletic Club in Hartford at the time of the crash.
The club, which is also listed as a defendant in the civil complaints, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
The complaints contends that the club continued to serve drinks to Patterson despite her alleged state of intoxication, the lawsuits said.
Both lawsuits are seeking monetary and punitive damages.
Patterson was not charged with DUI following the Bristol police investigation.
