President Donald Trump joined Second Lady Usha Vance for a special edition of her podcast, reading a children’s book and offering his trademark colorful commentary on the hobbies of past U.S. presidents.
The episode of “Storytime with the Second Lady” was filmed right in the Oval Office, where Trump and Vance teamed up to read “Presidents Play,” a book published by the White House Historical Society.
To kick off the episode, Vance asked the president if he thought any of his 11 grandchildren would be tuning in.
Trump joked that he planned to make the episode “mandatory” viewing for them.
“That won’t mean anything—that means they still won’t do it, but I’ll make it mandatory,” Trump laughed.
The conversation also took a brief detour into local politics when a page depicting Harry Truman taking a stroll outside prompted Trump to praise Vice President JD Vance.
Trump pointed out to the Second Lady that, with her husband’s help, Washington D.C. has once again become a very safe place.
As they flipped through the book, Trump offered his personal takes on the former commanders-in-chiefs.
