Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics recalled certain banana and strawberry fruit puree pouches Wednesday after a packaging defect left strands of plastic inside some products.
The U.S.
Food and Drug Administration issued a notice urging consumers who bought the affected Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics banana and strawberry puree pouches not to eat them and to return them to the store where they were purchased.
The 4-ounce pouches were sold exclusively at Kroger, Meijer and Target stores nationwide between March 6 and July 13.
An internal packaging defect caused strands of soft, food-grade plastic to appear in some of the puree pouches.
No injuries associated with the packaging defect have been reported.
