Youth will not be welcome after hours in a popular LGBTQ nightlife spot during St.
Louis Pride this weekend.
Mayor Cara Spencer set a curfew for juveniles during the Pride festivities in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood, which includes the Grove, late last week.
The curfew will run from 8 p.m.
Saturday to 5 a.m. the following day.
St.
Louis police will be barricading the Grove on Manchester Avenue between Boyle and Vandeventer avenues.
Parents must come pick up any children stopped for violating curfew at a reunification center run by the police and the Office of Violence Prevention.
Bars in the Grove will be closing at midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
In a statement, Spencer said she imposed the measure to prevent violence that has occurred at similar events.
Fights broke out last year during Pride in the Grove, and police arrested at least six people in connection with the violence.
However, none of the arrestees identified by police at a press event the day after were 18 years old or under.
Curfews have become a popular move from St.
Louis government officials.
In the aftermath of the May 16, 2025, tornado, police maintained a 9 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew for more than a month in the St.
Louis Police Department’s 5th and 6th Districts, which includes parts of north St.
Louis.
That was phased out at the end of June last year.
In March of this year, police imposed an under-18 curfew for the Downtown and Downtown West neighborhoods during the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and cited the parents of detained youths.
