Terrible’s will throw open the doors of the revamped Primm Valley Casino at noon Wednesday  just 17 days after the Nevada gaming company assumed management control of the iconic border property that had teetered on the edge of permanent closure.
The transition, which became official at 12:01 a.m.
July 5, transferred management of Primm Valley Casino, Buffalo Bill’s and Whiskey Pete’s from Affinity Interactive’s subsidiary, the Primadonna Company, to Terrible’s.
Since taking over, Terrible’s retained approximately 300 employees and began preparing to reopen the hotel as Primm Valley Resort & Casino.
The reopening event will include brief remarks from Bryan Breeden, Terrible’s vice president of advertising and marketing, and Mark Bennett, vice president of gaming operations, as well as Cory Clemetson, grandson of Primm founder Ernie Primm and president of the Primm South Real Estate Company.
The event takes place at the resort's main entrance at 31900 Las Vegas Blvd.
South.
The property will reopen with 422 gaming machines, 250 rooms, a William Hill Sports Book, a sports bar and a 24/7 quick-bites eatery.
Terrible’s also announced there will be no resort fees, and it will honor all rewards tiers previously earned by returning customers.
Immediately planned expansions include a coffee bar, a 24-hour casual dining café and a steakhouse, with work already underway.
The closures affected 344 employees, many of whom live in company-managed housing in Primm.
Clemetson told KSNV-TV that the partnership between Terrible’s and his family had already stabilized the community, preserving more than 300 jobs during the transition.
The rescue came after Affinity told state officials in a letter dated May 5 that it would permanently close its operations at all three Primm hotel-casino properties, along with the Primm Center gas station and Flying J truck stop, citing a ground lease whose economics were “no longer viable.”
The company had already been thinning operations for months as traffic weakened and California tribal casinos drew more visitors away from the Interstate 15 corridor.
Primm Valley is the last gaming venue to operate in the small community at the California border since Buffalo Bill’s closed in July 2025.
For decades, Primm served as the first stop for millions of travelers heading into Nevada from Southern California, but in recent years, closed casinos and declining activity left many wondering about the community’s future.
Terrible’s, the Nevada gaming and convenience-store company, also operates casinos in Pahrump, Searchlight, Indian Springs and Fernley, along with gaming locations across Southern Nevada.
The company is owned by the Herbst family, which built Terrible Herbst into one of Nevada’s most recognizable fuel and convenience brands.
