Months after the storied wrestling venue stopped hosting matches , the Berwyn Eagles Club has a new owner.
The property at 6309 W. 26th St. in Berwyn has been sold to the neighboring Berwyn Auto Spa, confirmed owner José Tejada.
The car wash posted a video on its Instagram page that showed the former Eagles Club with a new name: Destino.
According to the post, the building will be converted into an event space.
The new owner and Auto Spa staff did not respond to multiple requests for additional comment about the future of the former Eagles Club, or what types of events they plan to host in the space.
The auto spa business, at 6307 W. 26th St., offers hand-washing and detailing.
It also operates a Harold’s Chicken and a full bar offering beer and cocktails for customers to enjoy while their vehicles are being serviced.
But a website for the auto spa space does not list any upcoming events.
Wrestling promoters tell the Sun-Times that they don't know of any wrestling events scheduled there, despite the building's history.
The Berwyn Eagles Club has hosted indie wrestling shows at its west suburban venue for more than two decades.

Alexander Sarhdonis, who wrestles under the name HoboBugs Moran (and is simply known as “Bugs” to most), said his promotion, Wrestle League, is still hosting training sessions out of the former Berwyn Eagles Club.
He told the Sun-Times that Tejada informed Wrestle League that the venue would be undergoing renovations and the promotion would need to find an alternative space to run its training sessions.
The promoter added that finding an affordable spot in the same general area for his approximately 30 wrestling students might be difficult.
“My first wrestling match in Chicago was like seven years ago at the Eagles Club,” Bugs said.
“And so, yeah, it's definitely a big blow that affects all of us.”
Previously, Bugs had been paying rent to former Eagles Club operator Chuck Marose Sr. to use the space, he said.
When reached by phone, Marose Sr. told a reporter that he wasn’t interested in talking and just wanted to “move on.”
He also said that the Berwyn chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, which previously operated the space, no longer existed.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles’ national headquarters did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the Berwyn chapter’s status.
A spokesperson for the Office of the Cook County Clerk confirmed in April that the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Berwyn Airee No. 2125, owned the property.
Wrestling fans say that the Eagles Club offered budget-friendly prices and free parking.
Some of the world’s biggest wrestling stars —such as the WWE’s Becky Lynch, who attended Columbia College Chicago — have shed blood, sweat and tears in the club, making it a cornerstone venue for a sport that combines athleticism, entertainment and sometimes, raw brutality.
With the Eagles Club's absence, promoters are limited to fewer venues for wrestling shows.
Recent events have been staged inside the Logan Square Auditorium, which frequently hosts Freelance Wrestling and House of Glory Wrestling shows, and in Marionette Park, 115 Bourbon, the new home of AAW Pro.
But fans say both venues can be challenging to travel to, and parking options in the area are limited.
