The Nagoya District Court on Thursday sentenced a 42-year-old former elementary school teacher who started a group chat encouraging the sharing of indecent images of young girls to 2½ years in prison.
Yuji Wada, whose surname was previously Moriyama, was convicted of violating a law that prohibits the filming of indecent images, as well as property damage.
The group chat he started consisted of seven elementary and junior high school teachers from five prefectures — Hokkaido, Kanagawa, Tokyo, Okayama and Aichi — who shared secretly taken images on social media.
