Doug Mouton, currently the local CBS affiliate’s sports director, is slated to be the new host of the WWL Louisiana Morning News.

Mouton, a Brother Martin High School and University of New Orleans graduate, has experience across the newsroom.
He was WWL's Northshore bureau chief before being named sports director in 2012.
He succeeded Jim Henderson in that role.
Mouton is president of the Press Club of New Orleans.
He won several awards during the 2026 Press Club Excellence in Journalism Awards Gala on Saturday.
Walker’s morning news co-anchor, Brheanna Boudreaux, left WWL in June for a job in Houston.
WWL plans to hire another co-anchor to host the morning show alongside Mouton.
“We’re actively recruiting for a new anchor and look forward to making an announcement soon.
We believe (Mouton’s) connection with the audience and on-air personality make him a natural fit to grow the morning show, while Brandon will move to an evening newscast, which we believe best match his strengths.”
In a major change behind the cameras, WWL Louisiana news director Tyrianne “Nicole” Waivers has resigned.
A New Orleans native and graduate of Edna Karr High School and Loyola University, Waivers previously worked as an executive news editor at WFAA, an ABC affiliate in Dallas that, like WWL, is owned by TEGNA.
In January 2022, she became executive producer of WWL’s 10 p.m. newscast.
She was promoted to the station’s news director in May 2023 following the retirement of Keith Esparros, who had been in that role for eight years.
On July 13, Waivers, who was recently on maternity leave, sent an email to WWL staffers that read in part, "After much thought and prayer, I've decided it's time for my next chapter.
I’ll be stepping away from my position as News Director here at WWL."
