Around 11:10 p.m., a 25-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were in a parked vehicle in the 5400 block of South Shore Drive when a vehicle drove by and someone inside that vehicle opened fire, Chicago police said.
The man was shot in the abdomen and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he later died, police said.
The woman was shot in the shoulder and was taken to the same hospital in fair condition.
