CASPER, Wyo. — A Casper electrical company secured a $2 million state contract for traffic signal upgrades in Evanston as part of $7.6 million in highway projects awarded across Wyoming this month.
The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded the bid to Modern Electric Co. during its July business meeting.
The company will upgrade signals at intersections along Wyoming Highway 89 and Bear River Drive, with work set to finish by Oct.
31, 2027.
The project is one of three highway contracts approved by the commission.
Federal dollars primarily fund the work, and the state awards nearly all transportation contracts to the lowest bidder.
The commission also awarded a $4.3 million contract to Cheyenne-based Reiman Corp. to replace a bridge on County Road No. 660 over the North Platte River in Carbon County.
That project has a completion date of Sept.
30, 2028.
In Crook County, Gillette-based S & S Builders LLC received a $1.3 million contract to replace a bridge on County Road No. 112 over Donkey Creek Road.
Work is scheduled to finish by Nov.
30, 2027.
