The National Weather Service said to expect a high of 80 degrees today, with wildfire smoke visible and gusty winds.
It is the lowest expected high since June 25th.
The sudden and drastic change in temperature is from a cold front being blown in from the north that has significantly cooled down most of the state.
Unfortunately, the same wind that brings a break in the sweltering heat also brings smoke with it.
Yesterday, much of the smoke came from ongoing Utah wildfires; today's smoke will come from the Pacific Northwest.
The break in the heat will last today and Wednesday, before ramping back up into triple digits by the weekend.
Tonight, expect a low of 58 degrees with more smoke in the air and the same gusty winds.
