More Level 3 — Go Now! — evacuation orders have been issued for the Akawa Butte Fire burning in Central Oregon. 
Officials say the fire was pushing south toward Sisters, but is now heading east. 
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says hot and windy conditions continue to push fire activity in various directions, mainly due to thunderstorms rolling through the area. 
On Wednesday, officials with the Central Electric Cooperative posted their plans to de-energize some power lines in the area. 
The cooperative says it is possible more lines will be down as the fire is expected to progress throughout the night. 
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for much of Central Oregon. 
Forecasters say thunderstorms with abundant lightning are expected to hit the area, with gusty winds up to 40 miles per hour. 
The Akawa Butte Fire, sparked by lightning last week, is now burning more than 19,000 acres in Deschutes and Jefferson counties. 
A shelter for evacuees from the Akawa Butte Fire is available at Sisters High School, located at 1700 W. 
McKinney Butte Rd. in Sisters. 
A community meeting about the fire will be held at Sisters High School on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. 
It will be live-streamed on the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District Facebook page.
