MILTON TOWNSHIP  A 20-year-old man died Wednesday after being trapped inside a grain bin. 
Ian Atkinson of Hayesville died at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland after being transported by EMS from a Milton Township property, according to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office. 
The ACSO and the Ashland Fire Division responded to a 911 call Wednesday at 2:38 p.m. on the report a person was trapped inside of a grain bin at 1190 Milton Township Road 1656, according to a press release. 
Upon arrival, first responders were informed a male worker was inside of the grain bin and not responding to radio transmissions. 
“First responders immediately began rescue operations, located the individual and removed him from the grain bin,” the release said. 
ACSO is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with assistance from the Ashland County Coroner’s Office. 
More details regarding the incident will be released at the conclusion of the investigation, Ashland County Sheriff Kurt Schneider said.
