A woman was arrested after allegedly firing multiple rounds from an AR-15 style rifle at the Los Angeles home of Rihanna while the pop star was possibly inside, authorities said.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder, the Los Angeles Police Department told the Daily News in an emailed statement.
She remained in custody Monday on $10.2 million bail.
No one was injured in the shooting at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, the LAPD told The News.
Police had not yet determined a motive, and the department’s Robbery Homicide Division was investigating.
At least 10 shots were fired from a white Tesla across the street from Rihanna’s gate, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing dispatch audio.
Bullets pierced a gate to the property and an RV parked in the driveway, LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias told the newspaper.
At least one of the rounds pierced the wall of her home, KTLA-TV reported.
Police picked up the alleged shooter about 30 minutes after the 911 call in a shopping center parking lot, and Arias said they found an assault rifle and seven casings in her car.
The LAPD told The News that “a weapon was recovered.”
It was not clear whether the 38-year-old singer’s rapper partner A$AP Rocky or their three children were home when it happened, and Rihanna’s reps had not responded to comment requests Monday afternoon.
Initial reports were that the Grammy-winning artist was at home at the time, but it wasn’t clear Monday if that was the case.
Also unknown was what connection if any there was between Ortiz and the musician.
Rihanna has nine Grammy Awards to her name, along with 14 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including “We Found Love,” “Work,” “Umbrella” and “Disturbia.”
